The beginning of Château Bon Baron

A couple of years ago, a vision was created. TO start a vineyard in the valley of the Meuse, near Profondeville which is in the beautiful Walloon region in Belgium. A goal was set. From ‘good’ they wanted to go to ‘terrific’, from ‘tasteful’ to ‘culinary’ and from ‘acceptable’ to ‘spirited’ and ‘characteristic’.

WIne Making at the Château

This means that extreme consideration eas was taken into for the great diversity and mineralogy of the soil, the local climatologic and micro-climatologic information, and their personal diverse tastes. Ecological principles, durable materials, and careful handling of natural resources constantly change the views and enhance the passion for wine. Fantasy, but also pragmatic thinking and a hint of romance are often paving the way to make the perfect wine.

Thank you for welcoming our group, the tour, the explanations, the tasting and the Walloon buffet. A real moment of pleasure with a more than warm welcome. There is wine for all taste buds.

Really enjoyed this program. Love the story of the winery and the quick but interesting overview of the wine making process as well as proper wine tasting technique. She ran the program in 3 languages, so hats off.

Great experience and above all great meeting with Jeanette, the winemaker. He is a passionate and exciting person. The Belgian terroir offers us very good wines that we had great pleasure tasting. Our host explained the whole history of the vineyard since its beginnings 25 years ago!!! I highly recommend it

We had the best time at our wine tasting with Jeanette. She walked us through not only their winemaking process, but also her sweet family story. She taught us the steps to taste the wine and replied to all of our questions on winemaking. We tried several white and reds as well as a rosé, and each of us fell in love with a different wine. She also let us have a bis of our favourite glass. It is also possible to buy the bottles to go - we ended up taking four of them!
