Château Ergenekon is a small, family-run winery located in the village of Bigalı on the Gallipoli Peninsula in northwest Turkey. The estate lies between the Aegean and Marmara Seas, surrounded by rolling vineyards, limestone soils, and the gentle winds that define this unique region.

Our story began with the simple dream of creating something lasting and honest from this land. What began as a family passion has transformed into a lifestyle that connects us to nature and the people who share our wines. The building that now houses our winery was once the village's grain warehouse. In 2015, we carefully restored it and transformed it into a working winery equipped with modern equipment, while preserving its original character. The project received partial support from the European Union, which helped us transform a piece of the village's history into a living part of our future.

Since the beginning, our philosophy has remained the same: low yield and high quality. We cultivate approximately twelve hectares of vineyards and use only the grapes we grow ourselves. Each vine is tended by hand throughout the year. The vineyards are certified organic, and we avoid all chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides.

Working here means living in close contact with nature. The seasons bring with them calm and challenge. Winds from two seas shape the vines, while the soil and sunlight add their silent strength. Every year teaches us something new about patience and respect. This rhythm of the earth has become the rhythm of our family.

At Château Ergenekon, wine begins long before the bottle. It begins in the soil, in the work of many hands, and in the stories shared around the table. We welcome visitors who wish to experience this life with us, stroll through the vineyards, breathe in the air of Gallipoli, and understand what makes this place so special

Great wines and great experience! A highly recommended way of getting to how the Gallipoli Peninsula terroir. I had the privilege to meet the Ergenekon family and shared with them, not only their wines, but their true passion for winemaking. This project is the inspiring story of a hardworking, knowledgeable, passionate family, who works together not only to produce wine, but to provide a memorable experience for all the visitors.

Chateau Ergenekon was our first wine experience, recommended by my brother, and we were thrilled! 🍇 After the grape harvest, we tasted each of their delicious wines at a tasting evening. We realized that without understanding the effort behind a bottle of wine—the vineyard, the grape varieties, the wines, and the challenges and even surprises of its production—it's just a sip. 🍷🥂 Thank you again for all your hard work. Many thanks, dear 🧿Şeyla, 🧿Çağatay, and 🧿Emir. ❤️🙋🏼‍♀️

It was a wonderful experience. We'll definitely be back next year. The wines speak for themselves. My benchmark, however, is: no headache the next day, no matter how much you drink. Everything was perfect. Many thanks to the Ergenekon family.

I have just completed the first stint of my two-term harvest internship at Château Ergenekon and I want to say that I had an absolutely fantastic experience! I want to sincerely thank the team for the warm, family-like culture they’ve created, not only among themselves but also including their harvest interns. It was truly special to be part of such an inclusive and supportive environment. The wine culture at Château Ergenekon is inspiring, and their story about how it all started is really fascinating. The wines they craft are nothing short of incredible. For any intern looking to gain experience that goes beyond just winemaking, this is the place to be, you’ll learn so much about the entire wine journey and be welcomed into a truly passionate community. I will definitely be coming back again in November after completing my internship in Austria. I wholeheartedly recommend Château Ergenekon to anyone seeking an enriching and unforgettable wine experience!🍇🍷and yes great wine is made in the vineyards!
