Château Ergenekon is a small, family-run winery located in the village of Bigalı on the Gallipoli Peninsula in northwest Turkey. The estate lies between the Aegean and Marmara Seas, surrounded by rolling vineyards, limestone soils, and the gentle winds that define this unique region.
Our story began with the simple dream of creating something lasting and honest from this land. What began as a family passion has transformed into a lifestyle that connects us to nature and the people who share our wines. The building that now houses our winery was once the village's grain warehouse. In 2015, we carefully restored it and transformed it into a working winery equipped with modern equipment, while preserving its original character. The project received partial support from the European Union, which helped us transform a piece of the village's history into a living part of our future.
Since the beginning, our philosophy has remained the same: low yield and high quality. We cultivate approximately twelve hectares of vineyards and use only the grapes we grow ourselves. Each vine is tended by hand throughout the year. The vineyards are certified organic, and we avoid all chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides.
Working here means living in close contact with nature. The seasons bring with them calm and challenge. Winds from two seas shape the vines, while the soil and sunlight add their silent strength. Every year teaches us something new about patience and respect. This rhythm of the earth has become the rhythm of our family.
At Château Ergenekon, wine begins long before the bottle. It begins in the soil, in the work of many hands, and in the stories shared around the table. We welcome visitors who wish to experience this life with us, stroll through the vineyards, breathe in the air of Gallipoli, and understand what makes this place so special
