Chateau Famaey is nestled in the picturesque South West of France, right in the heart of the Cahors wine region. The winery's story began in 2001 when two Belgian friends turned their dream of crafting wine from the unique terroir of Cahors into reality.

Expertise in Winemaking

Spanning 40 hectares, the vineyard is strategically positioned across the first, second, and third terraces of the Lot Valley. The first terrace is dedicated to producing IGP Cotes du Lot wines, while the second and third terraces offer a more complex terroir, ideal for crafting the renowned Cahors wines, particularly Malbec.

At Chateau Famaey, the team prioritizes meticulous vine care and a deep respect for nature.

The winemaking process is carefully managed to create rich, authentic French wines. Manual harvesting is a cherished tradition, turning the annual harvest into a festive celebration. Collaborating closely with skilled local oenologists, the winemakers focus on enhancing the fruitiness and freshness of Malbec, the signature grape of the Cahors appellation.
