Experience Biodynamic Excellence in Margaux
The Legacy of Gabriel Ferrière
Founded in the 18th century by Gabriel Ferrière, this estate has a rich history. His cousin Jean expanded the property, and after Gabriel's passing, his widow, Marie Commet, took ownership. In 1988, Jacques Merlaut acquired the vineyard, continuing its legacy. The Margaux appellation is renowned for its prestigious Grand Cru wines, making it a significant area in the Médoc region.
Exceptional Terroir of Château Ferrière
Located in Margaux, the vineyards benefit from deep Garonne gravel and limestone marl soils, which contribute to the production of high-quality wines. The estate primarily cultivates Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cot, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. With 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the wines exhibit a powerful structure and aromatic complexity. The vinification process occurs in oak and concrete tanks, followed by 18 months of maturation in French oak barrels, resulting in wines with rich fruit and spice flavors. Recently, Château Ferrière has adopted biodynamic practices, earning certifications from Demeter and Biodyvin.
