A Winery Immersed in the Gentle Hills of Veneto
Surrounded by olive groves and rows of vines across the river, there exists a wine estate known as Le Manzane. It is an old winery located among Felettano hills, weaving a charming panorama in the heart of Conegliano Valdobbiadene. The estate is well-known for its award-winning white Glera wines, paired with delicious red, rose, and sparkling wines.
Le Manzane – A Tradition That Passed on from Generation to Generation
Commenced in the mid 20th century, the Le Manzane Winery represents the commitment, passion, and love of three generations of the Balbinot family towards Italian wines. In 1958, Osvaldo Balbinot and wife Elsa started cultivating grapes on a small family-owned land. Later, Osvaldo’s son, Ernesto, acquired the winery and expanded the winemaking business to new heights, along with his wife, Silvana. Marco and Anna also follow in their grandfather’s footsteps and work in the vineyards with great dedication, respecting their family tradition.
Fertile Terroirs of Conegliano and Treviso Yielding High-Quality Grapes
The agricultural land of La Manzane is around 70 hectares in Prosecco Superiore, where the Balbinot family grows a wide range of grapes in optimal conditions. Glera being the primary vine variety, the estate cultivates high-end Manzoni, Verdiso, Marzemino, Cabernet, and Merlot. These grapes are manually harvested and carefully moved to the cellar to produce luscious Prosecco DOC and DOCG wines.
Various innovative and conventional wine production techniques are carried out in the cellar. Modern thermo-vinification techniques, thermo-conditioned storage, automatic bottling, etc. are some of the latest practices, combined with traditional aging and refining in wooden barrels and barriques.
