Located just a short drive from Caltagirone, Valle delle Ferle winery sits along the historic wine route connecting Niscemi and Caltagirone, approximately 50 km from the renowned Vittoria DOCG region. Valle delle Ferle specializes in producing Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG wines, crafted from premium red grape varieties, including Frappato and Nero d’Avola.
Owned by Claudia and Andrea, Valle delle Ferle winery prioritizes environmental sustainability while creating high-quality red and rosé wines. The estate spans 10 hectares, where they cultivate the unique Frappato and Nero d’Avola grapes. In addition to their wines, the winery produces exquisite grappa and extra virgin olive oil, primarily from the Tonda Iblea olive variety, with 500 trees grown using organic farming practices.
The winery's cellar, surrounded by lush olive groves and vineyards, combines traditional winemaking methods with modern technology. Selected grape bunches undergo soft pressing, followed by fermentation in vats. After these initial stages, the wines are aged in barrels, allowing for optimal refinement and maturation.

By far the best winery experience we have had. Our host Giuseppe was very accommodating and replied to our inquiry straight away. He gave us a tour of the vineyard and production areas explaining the process and history of the vineyard. The wines we had were excellent and the experience was not rushed at all, he took the time to talk through everything with us and even prepared a delicious platter to accompany our drinks. If you are in Sicily, it is definitely worth a visit. We will definitely be back next time we go. Thank you again Giuseppe for our 'Wine with friends'.

Today we visited the @valledelleferle winery and it was a unique experience! The place is enchanting, a few km from the center of Caltagirone, easily reachable by car. We started the day with a guided tour of the vineyard and cellar with master Giuseppe to whom we owe all our gratitude for the care, dedication and passion with which he transmitted to us all the information on the production of wine. After this visit we definitely feel wiser and more erudite 😉 We know what a frapato is and how to open a bottle of wine 🍷 and many other super interesting things! Obviously we tasted lots of excellent wine and ate divinely immersed in a natural setting that takes your breath away and makes you forget the sense of time. Unique experience that I highly recommend you undertake!
