On the hills above Novigrad, there were three "kaštelirs” or forts: St. Dionysius, St. George, and Valaron. Three queens ruled those forts and overlooked the production of the noblest products of the area, providing sustainability for centuries: the Queen of Salt, the Queen of Oil, and the Queen of Wine.
The Istria tasting introduces you to the pillars of our region: native grape varieties Malvazija Istriana, Teran, and Muškat Ruža paired with our Extra Virgin Olive Oil, charcuterie, cheese selection, and truffle or tomato bruschettas.

Cattunar Winery exceeded our expectations in every way, from the luxurious accommodation to the warmth that emanates from every detail. Every detail, from the interior design to the personal approach, is carefully designed and executed in a way that is far above the standards of the competition. We were particularly impressed by the warm welcome of Mr. Alessandro, who with his presence and professionalism gives soul to this winery. His hospitality and approachability make him an irreplaceable part of the team: every owner would wish to have such an employee. With this the winery acquires an invaluable asset that makes all the difference. Mrs. Danijela also deserves all praise. With a smile and attention to every detail, she guided us through the world of Cattunar wine and brought us warmth and a sense of belonging that makes us want to come back again. Her enthusiasm and expertise make the tasting experience special and unforgettable. Remind the owner how many quality people he has with him. In addition to the kindness of the host, it is also worth noting the rich breakfast that greeted us: every bite demonstrates the quality and attention to detail. The rooms are spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and offer a peaceful view of nature, while the wellness area offers the opportunity to relax in an intimate, family-like atmosphere. The whole atmosphere exudes warmth and love for guests, leaving us wanting to come back. We left with one thought: to plan our return.
