Located between the picturesque landscapes of Neustadt and Deidesheim along the Wine Route, Gerhard Schwarztrauber Winery sits in the charming Mittelhaardt region of Mußbach, Pfalz. Since 1986, the winery has proudly been a member of the ‘Bioland’ community, recognized as one of the most successful German winemakers at Mundus Vini BioFach.

Two Generations of Winemaking Excellence

The Gerhard estate has deep roots in Pfalz's winemaking tradition. Established by Walter and Gerlinde Schwarztraube in 1959, the winery has flourished under the guidance of Gerhard Schwarztrauber, who joined the family business in 1981 and took over in 1994. Together with Petra Schwarztrauber, Gerhard continues to uphold the family legacy while embracing modern winemaking practices.

A Diverse Selection of Wines

With 20 hectares of vineyards, the winery cultivates a wide variety of grapes, including Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Auxerrois, and Muscaris. These vineyards thrive in the fertile soils of the Mittelhaardtgebirge winegrowing area. Committed to organic viticulture, Gerhard also grows Gelber Muskateller, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Saint Laurent, Blaufränkisch, and Dornfelder. The winery produces a range of ecologically balanced white and red wines, as well as delightful rosé and sparkling options.

Equipped with modern technology, the winery ensures a seamless transformation from vine to wine. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature conditions, followed by aging in wooden oak barrels and barriques, resulting in wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
