Guided wine walks across 18+ Loire Valley vineyard sites, spanning UNESCO-listed landscapes from Anjou through Touraine and the Val de Loire. Three-hour routes combine vineyard walking, tastings of local wines, and regional food pairings. Cooking demonstrations and children's activities at most sites. French wine festivals typically combine producer tastings with food pairings, music, and a strong sense of place. Visitors can expect access to wines from a range of producers in the appellation, alongside food stalls offering regional specialities, masterclasses or vineyard walks for those who want to learn more, and an opportunity to buy direct from the cellar at producer prices. The event is organised by InterLoire, which sets the tone and direction of the programme each year.
The Loire Valley runs more than 800 kilometres from the Atlantic to central France, producing Muscadet from the Pays Nantais, Chenin Blanc whites and Cabernet Franc reds in Anjou and Touraine, and Sauvignon Blanc in Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. The region's chateaux and central river landscape are UNESCO-listed. The Loire Valley is a classic French wine touring region, reached via Tours, Angers, Nantes or Orleans.
