Crafting Exceptional Organic Roditis Wines in Aigiala
Acheon Winery: Nestled in the Scenic Aigiala of Achaia
Acheon Winery is beautifully situated on the slopes of Aigiala in Achaia, Greece. Surrounded by hills and plateaus, the estate offers stunning views of the natural landscape. The winery focuses on indigenous grape varieties from the Aigiala region, producing high-quality Greek wines recognized under prestigious appellations such as PDO Patra, PGI Achaia, and PGI Slopes of Aigialeia.
In 2004, the third generation of the Katsikostas family took the reins of Acheon Winery, continuing a proud winemaking tradition.
A Rich Heritage of Grape Cultivation
Founded in 1946 by Luke Katsikostas, Acheon Winery is the only winery in the Aigiala area that specializes in both import and export. His son, Constantine Katsikostas, later took over, modernizing the winery by relocating it to Paliokamares and introducing advanced equipment. After 18 years, he expanded the facility, enhancing productivity and quality.
In 2004, Luke and Sosanna, the third-generation winemakers, embraced their family legacy. The vineyards on the Aigiala slopes grow a diverse range of grapes, including Roditis, Siderites, Moschato White, and Mavrodaphne. After careful handpicking, these grapes are transformed into exceptional red, white, rosé, and dessert wines.
Modern Wine Cellar Facilities
The winery features state-of-the-art facilities, including modern presses and stainless steel refrigerated tanks for fermentation. The wine cellar houses a barrel room for aging and maturation, while an underground boutique wine shop allows guests to sample and purchase their exquisite vintages.
