Producing the Best, Organic Rodites Wines in the Aigiala Region

Acheon Winery, On the Beautiful Slopes of Aigiala in Achaia

Acheon Winery is located on the beautiful slopes of Aigiala in the state of Achaia. The estate and vineyards rest among the hills and plateaus, giving a mesmerizing view of the wonders of nature. The winery emphasizes indigenous grape varieties from the Aigiala region’s mountains for delivering the top-most quality Greek wines, under the finest appellations. Their wine labels comprise of PDO Patra, PGI Achaia, and PGI Slopes of Aigialeia.

In 2004, the third generation took over Acheon Winery and follow in the winemaking footsteps of their forefathers.

Cultivating a Vast Range of Grape Varieties

Established in 1946 by grandfather, Luke Katsikosta, the estate is currently the only import and export winery in the Aigiala territory. Later, Constantine Katsikostas acquired the winery and continued his father’s work with immense dedication and love for wine. He relocated the winery to Paliokamares and introduced modern machinery in the wine cellar. After 18 years, the winery was again relocated and expanded. He purchased more tanks and advanced equipment that enhanced productivity.

In 2004, Luke & Sosanna, the third generation members, took over the family winery and followed the footsteps of their forefathers. The vineyards, situated on the slopes of Aigiala, cultivate a vast range of grapes, including Roditis, Siderites, Moschato White, and Mavrodaphne. After selective handpicking, these vines are moved to the cellar to make top-notch red and white wines, together with rich-quality rosé and dessert wines.

The Wine Cellar at the Winery

All the buildings of the winery are renovated with state-of-the-art technology. Luke uses modern presses and stainless steel refrigerated tanks to carry out active fermentation. The wine cellar consists of the barrel room where they keep the wines for aging and maturation. In the underground cellar, the estate also has a boutique wine shop for guests to savor their magnificent vintages.
