A Legacy of Natural Winemaking in Tbilisi, Georgia
A Family Tradition
Since 1984, the Wolski family has been crafting wines in Tbilisi, Georgia. Alexander Wolski, the founder, began this tradition, and his son George Wolski has been involved since childhood. Initially, their wines were made solely for family enjoyment, using natural winemaking methods that respect the land.
Winemaking with Respect for Nature
At Andrias Gvino, we prioritize organic practices, producing wines that are 100% natural, free from additives and filtration. Continuing my family's legacy, I cultivate organic vineyards and avoid using sulfites during the winemaking process. Our wines are crafted in traditional Qvevri, ensuring that only the purest grape juice is used—nothing added, nothing removed.
Commitment to Quality
Quality is at the heart of Andrias Gvino. We focus on producing exceptional wines, even if it means sacrificing quantity. Our vineyards are not irrigated, and we refrain from using fertilizers, resulting in yields that are 3-4 times lower than conventional growers. After harvest, we meticulously sort the grapes, selecting only the finest berries for crushing. The remaining pomace is used to create our unique Georgian spirit, Chacha.
We value the distinct characteristics of each grape variety, cultivating 13 different types in optimal terroirs. Each wine reflects its unique varietal and terroir, and we never blend our wines, allowing their individual qualities to shine.
