The Sgaly wine estate is located in Ortezzano in the river valley surrounded by Chardonnay vineyards. Since 2005, the company has worked hard to complete the productive cycle and increase the value of their grapes. The estate was born from more than a century of experience of the Sgalippa family in viticulture. They have the best modern technology and equipment required for making high-quality, innovative wines. The production is based on organic farming as it is the best way to protect nature and express the qualities of the gifted Marche terroir.

Organic farming in the vineyards

The company owns 20 hectares of land, out of which 11 are vineyards. The specialized vineyards are divided into two parts. The main one is on a ridge between Monterinaldo and Ortezzano with a clayey and limestone soil. The other one is in a plain river valley and has mixed alluvial soil. All the work done in the vineyards is based on organic viticulture. All grapes are cultivated according to the rules of organic farming and handpicked by their workers.

Modern winery with best technology

The main grapes they grow are Chardonnay, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Merlot, Pecorino, and Passerina. Only the best grapes are selected and taken to the cellar to make their red, white, and rose wines. The modern wine cellar is next to the vineyards and equipped with the best technology for winemaking, fermentation, and warehousing. Wines are aged in small oak barrels for the required taste. Their Marche IGT and DOC wines have unmatched characteristics and are loved by their customers.
