Charming even to history in Italy
The Origin of The Winery
We leave for Italy, in the middle of two of the most recognized areas of Italy, Isonzo and Collio. Let’s start by learning more about the estate of Borgo Conventi, the origin comes from a rich nobleman who was the owner of several lands, his brother and one of the lands where they built the first monastery in the area of Farra d’Isonzo.
Thanks to this history, to these two men and to this land, the legend of the estate and its name were created.
Let’s take a more recent history and go back to 1975, when the Borgo Conventi estate was created, with a single objective: to create good, fine and elegant wines capable of being recognized in Italy and throughout the world. The estate is still growing and knows how to make its vineyard work, in fact in 2001 the estate was bought by the Folonari family. This purchase has only increased the production of wine while respecting the traditional methods and the respect of the vineyard.
The estate extends over 30 hectares of vineyards, producing over 300,000 bottles per year. The wines are aged for several months in old French oak barrels or in stainless steel tanks. Lands That Have Been Blessed For Winemaking
The estate is situated in the middle of hills and reliefs, and is bordered by a river which makes the soil rich in minerals, so the wine is unique. The microclimate of the region only accentuates the freshness and youthfulness of the wines with their flowery aromas. This climate allows for the planting of many varieties of grapes that we no longer need to introduce, such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Friulano, etc.
Don’t wait any longer to discover this charming estate with its undeniable history!
