Carlevana Winery: under control of experts

Carlevana Winery is located in the heart of Moldova, Merenii Noi (New Mereni) village, 25 km from Chisinau. The landscape protects vineyards from winter frosts and summer droughts. The company is an entire winemaking complex. The whole process, starting with the care of the vine, and ending with filling in cells and the preparing for sale, is controlled by experts of Carlevana Winery.

The total area of the company’s vineyards is more than 151 hectares. Most of them are Riesling, Sauvignon, and Rara Neagră. It is also worth noting that the company is one of the few in Moldova that cultivate Sauvignon Gris and Pinot Gris varieties. At present, the company has the largest area of vineyards of Riesling and Rara Neagră varieties.

Taste some gorgeous port wine

Carlevana Winery is a pioneer in Moldova to introduce the famous Western technology in the field of winemaking. Besides, for the first time in Moldova, Ice Wine was produced exclusively at Carlevana Winery. This wine is made here with the use of classic technology. This also the case for Port Mereni 2004. This aged dessert red wine is made by the classic Port method from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The wine is aged in oak barrels, has a noble dark ruby color, and a pleasant spicy taste with velvet tones of blackcurrant and prunes. Great as a starter or paired with cheeses, charcuterie platter, and Mediterranean cuisine.

Production of award-winning wines

With the coordinated work of our technologists under the leadership of the ace winemakers, Carlevana Winery’s wines are being regularly awarded medals and diplomas at numerous national and international competitions and specialized exhibitions.

In 2002 Carlevana Winery wines became the first Moldovan wines to be included in the “1000 best wines of the world” catalog, published by the French Association of Oenology
