The Union of two Brothers at Carpineta Fontalpino
The winemaking history of Carpineta Fontalpino dates back to the 1800s. Today, the Cresti Family is handling the administration of the winery. They have been working in the cellar since the 1960s. At present, the winery, owned by two brothers – Gioia and Filippo Cresti, is a certified organic producer of excellent red and sparkling wines. Gioia, the oenologist of the farm, personally keep a track on all the production phases – winemaking and aging. Filippo takes care of the commercial and marketing development part.
The Winery Provides a Colourful Portfolio of Grape Varieties
Carpineta Fontalpino covers an area of 80 hectares where the owner has various cultivars. The vineyards are expanded over a land of 28 hectares where the winery grows a broad range of grapes, including high-quality Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. They also cultivate some experimental vines, such as Petit Verdot and Alicante, all under the Chianti Classico DOCG and Colli Senesi DOC status. The average age of the vineyards is around 22 years. The brothers also produce top-quality extra virgin olive oil which is fruity and spicy with high organoleptic qualities, along with a top-notch vinegar with 7% acidity and appealing aromas.
