A Family Legacy

Carpineta Fontalpino is a cherished family-owned winery, rooted in the traditions of the Cresti family. While winemaking in this region dates back to the 19th century, it was in 1967 that Italo Cresti transformed his passion into a thriving business, nurturing the land with care and dedication.

Located in the Heart of Tuscany

Nestled near the historic city of Siena, our winery is situated in the picturesque municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, close to the iconic Montaperti hill. Our estate spans approximately 90 hectares (222 acres), where we practice certified organic farming, cultivating both vineyards and “Senatore Cappelli” wheat.

Our vineyards cover 30 hectares (74 acres) and are primarily dedicated to Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with select varietals like Petit Verdot and Alicante. Thanks to our prime location near various wine regions, we produce both Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG wines, as well as our renowned Supertuscan IGT. Join us to savor the rich flavors and heritage of Tuscan wines.

This was a great experience, tasting five Chianti and one Prosecco. Davide was so helpful and answered all our questions about the wines, their production and vineyards. He even provided the requested gluten free breads for me. This family run business is well worth a visit.

We stopped spontaneously at the winery during our trip in Tuscany, we were welcomed and kindly greeted by Sara, I believe one of the owners of the property, who was very knowledgeable about the family history of the winery, the care of the vineyard and a wonderful insight of production of their fine product. We picked up several bottles of wine and appreciated the hospitality shown to us!

Fabulous winery tucked away in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. So fortuitous that this winery was just minutes away from our accomodation, because the wine was absolutely splendid, the tagliere board was delicious (caprese salad was out of this world), and the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. Still enjoying the wine in Australia almost a year later!
