Nestled among the rolling hills of Monferrato Ovadese, the Castello di Grillano Winery is located in a unique area in southern Piedmont halfway between the Apennines and the Alexandrian plains. The winery is a short drive away from the Ligurian Sea, on the boundary of Genoa and Savona provinces. The Castello di Grillano winery got its organic certification by ICEA in 2012.
Torello Rovereto Family Produces Wines since 1930
Castello di Grillano is the wine producing company, belonging to the Torello Rovereto Family, who has been producing high-quality wines since 1935. Founded in 1930 by Giovanni Torello, today, the vineyards with the ancient cellars, the farmstead, and the green park, create the homonymous hamlet of Ovada in Piedmont. The estate also consists of a guest house for visitors with a swimming pool facility. Under European Regulation 203/2012, the company does not use any pesticides or herbicides during the viticulture – they produce pure organic wines only. At present, Francesco handles the administration of the winery. With the utmost respect for nature and biodiversity, the owner grows a wide range of grapes in the vineyards. It includes high quality Dolcetto, Barbera, and Cortese, along with top-class Chardonnay, within the finest appellations of Monferrato DOC and DOCG regions. The vines express the essence of the terroirs and soil and their rich aromas and scents are pleasant in the mouth. With certification, Castello di Grillano produces world class red and white wines, in combination with delicious rosé and sparkling wines.
