Castello di Tassarolo, Dating Back to the 8th Century
The history of the Spinola family has a very long tradition and dates back to the 8th century. In the 14th century the family owned the castle and started producing wines there. Massimiliana Spinola and Henry are the latest owner in the Castle.
Where Horses Support the Work in the Winery
In 2006, Castello di Tassarolo adopted biodynamic methods for the production of their wines. Henry works with french horses in his vineyards to guarantee a careful cultivation of the soil. Together, they have established a natural process of producing sulfite-free wines in their winery. By using biodynamic farming methods, they cultivate various types of vines in their vineyards. They grow Barbera, Cortese Di Gavi, Nebbiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon to produce high-quality organic wines. They provide a rich quality of red, white, rose, and sparkling wines to their customers. These biodynamic wines exemplify the rich quality of their wine production processes. We encourage a visit to enjoy some delicious organic wines in a traditional and special atmosphere of a castle, plan a trip to Castello di Tassarolo in Gavi.
