A Historic Winery Nestled in the Heart of Mount Lebanon
Chateau Belle-Vue: From Hotel to Winery
Chateau Belle-Vue has a captivating history that began with Jill and Naji, a couple who returned to Naji’s homeland, Lebanon, from London in the late 1990s. The land, once home to Naji's grandfather's hotel, Hotel Belle-Vue, is located near Bhamdoun village. Although the hotel no longer stands, the fertile soil inspired the couple to plant their first vines in 2000. Over the years, this vision transformed the land into the thriving wine estate known today as Chateau Belle-Vue.
A Multifaceted Experience
Chateau Belle-Vue is not just about wine; it also cultivates olive and fig trees, along with unique heritage grape varieties. Nearby, Le Télégraphe, a boutique hotel and restaurant, offers guests a delightful culinary experience and luxurious accommodations. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, bike rentals, and guided tours of the winery and vineyards, making it a perfect destination for wine lovers and travelers alike.
Organic Practices and Quality Wines
The vineyards at Chateau Belle-Vue are cultivated organically, ensuring respect for the land and its produce. Spanning 25 hectares in the picturesque Bhamdoun valley, the vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate created by the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. This dedication to quality has resulted in exceptional wines, including their Renaissance 2003, which won Gold Best In Class at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London in 2007.
