Experience Bordeaux's Historic Vineyards Since the 1750s
The Chateau Siaurac Estate
Chateau Siaurac is situated on the Néac plateau, an extension of the renowned Pomerol plateau. As the largest estate in the appellation, it spans 46 hectares of vineyards, a stunning 19th-century château, and 15 hectares of picturesque parkland featuring ancient trees, an orangery, and beautifully landscaped woods from the 18th century. This estate stands as one of the most distinguished in the region.
Rich Historical Legacy
The winegrowing history of Chateau Siaurac dates back to the 18th century, as evidenced by bookkeeping records from Etienne Rabion between 1753 and 1759. In 1832, Pierre Brisson, a notary from Libourne, acquired the estate. His son, Benjamin Brisson, inherited it and married Elise Chaperon, a local wine merchant's daughter, which further solidified the estate's prominence. Their son, Joseph, served as the Mayor of Néac and a Member of Parliament, dedicating 50 years to advocating for the quality of Néac wines. Since 2004, Paul Goldschmidt and Aline Guichard have been at the helm of the estate.
Commitment to Sustainability
Chateau Siaurac has long been recognized for its sustainable agriculture practices. In 2015, the estate eliminated chemical weeding, marking a pivotal shift towards eco-friendly methods. Today, vineyard management is tailored to each plot and vintage conditions, incorporating organic and biodynamic techniques as part of a broader commitment to sustainability. The team focuses on reducing energy consumption, recycling waste, and ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, neighbors, and visitors.
