Exquisite Wines from the Heart of Verona, Italy
A Boutique Winery in Verona
Corte Quaiara is a charming boutique winery nestled in the Moreniche region of Verona, Italy. Founded in 2013 by Giovanni Montresor on his maternal grandparents' farm, this winery benefits from unique glacial soils. These ancient soils, formed from melting ice during the great glaciations, are rich in minerals yet low in nutrients. This combination allows the vines to thrive, producing wines that reflect the region's rich history and terroir.
Wines of Corte Quaiara
The Morainic hills, combined with the local climate and carefully selected grape varieties, create wines with distinctive flavors that are hard to find elsewhere. The vineyard cultivates a variety of grapes, including Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio, Goldtraminer, Oseleta, Chardonnay, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Teroldego, Garganega, and Cortese. The best grapes from each harvest are transformed into exceptional red, white, and sparkling wines.
Inherited Passion for Winemaking
Corte Quaiara employs stainless steel tanks for fermentation, followed by aging in terracotta amphorae for nine months. To enhance the quality of their wines, they limit the yield from their best vineyards to just 4,400 pounds of grapes per acre, significantly lower than the typical 13,200 pounds. This meticulous approach ensures that each bottle captures the essence of the vineyard and the unique characteristics of the region.
