A Boutique Winery in Verona
Corte Quaiara is a boutique winery located in the Moreniche region in Verona, Italy. The winery was started in 2013 by Giovanni Montresor at his maternal grandparent’s farm. The soil here is extremely complex due to its glacial origin which was once covered with ice that melted during the great glaciations. The soil has abundant minerals but lacks nutrients. It is a type of soil that enables the vines to give their best, and at the same time mark, the produce with the reminiscent of the glacier present here a thousand years ago.
Wines of Corte Quaiara
The Morainic hills, climate, grape varieties, care taken at harvest gives a unique taste to their wines which is very rare in the wine world. The main types of grapes that grow here are Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio, Goldtraminer, Oseleta, Chardonnay, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Teroldego, Garganega, Cortese. Best of the harvest goes into the production of their spectacular red, white, and sparkling wines.
Inherited Passion of Wine Making
They use the stainless steel tanks to ferment their best harvest and let it age in a terracotta amphora for nine months. In addition to that, they cut the yields of their best vineyard grapes to a mere 4400 pounds of grapes to an acre rather than the normal capacity of 13,200 pounds to get the desired flavor on their spectacular wine.
