Gentili Azienda Agricola Winery, a New Generation with a New Way
Gentili Azienda Agricola Winery is a 40-year-old winery located in the northern area of DOC Bardolino. Enrico Gentili has been running the winery since 2010, along with his sister Elisa. A few years ago, Enrico Gentili, son of the founder Carlo, decided to bottle the best wines of his production and wrote his name on the labels for the first time.
Today, Enrico’s primary goal is to improve the reputation of Bardolino wines and incorporate forgotten local grapes varieties such as Trebianel.
The Ideal Terroir of Gentili Winery
Located at the foot of Mount Baldo, the winery has been producing wines since 1979, and their vineyards overlook the Lake Garda. The climate variations and soil quality make the region perfect for the growth of good quality grapes. The grape growers are sure to protect the environment and their vineyards. All vineyard work and the harvest are done manually, and there is no use of fertilizers apart from green manure. The main varieties of grapes grown are Corvina, Corvinone, Sangiovese, Molinara, Traminer, Chardonnay, Trebianel, and Rondinella. The best grapes go into producing their world-famous red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines.
Mixing traditions and Modern Technologies at Gentili Azienda Agricola
The winemakers combine traditional methods with modern and innovative techniques to produce high-quality wines that showcase the terroir’s qualities and features. The production in the cellar is natural and organic without the addition of any chemicals. Care is taken to preserve the grapes’ natural flavors and give the wines intense aroma and a complex structure. The winery produced almost 12 000 bottles in 2018.
