Hopesgrove Wines is a charming, family-owned winery nestled in the limestone hills near Paki Paki, Hawke's Bay. Specializing in single-vineyard, small-batch wines, every aspect of production is managed by the family. With three hectares of carefully tended vines, they focus on low yields to produce high-quality fruit, resulting in distinctive and artisan wines crafted exclusively from hand-harvested grapes.

Award-Winning Wines

Winemaker Pieter Koopman, along with his wife and two children, relocated to New Zealand in 2005 after years of traveling between California and Hawke's Bay. They planted grapes from Burgundy and Northern Rhône varietals, selecting rootstocks and clones that thrive in the unique microclimates of the region. The first vintage of Hopesgrove was crafted in 2009, showcasing their commitment to quality.

Hopesgrove wines consistently receive high ratings, often exceeding 90 points in both New Zealand and the USA. Notably, the 2010 Silver Lining Syrah earned 98 points and double Gold medals at the 2015 International Wine Competition in San Francisco.
