The winery is located on the rolling hills in Valerisce di San Floriano. Established in the early 20th century by Antonio Humar, in the heart of the Collio area right next to the border of Slovenia, the winery has been reviving and renewing more than 100 years old vineyards and transforming fine grapes into exemplary Collio wines. The estate, along with its vineyards, rests among the awe-inspiring natural environment.

The terroir of Humar Vini

The vines thrive on the slopes of friable marlstone in San Floriano del Collio. Nestled between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic sea, the Collio hills enjoy a perfect microclimate, which is temperate and dry. The soils are mainly comprised of marls and sandstone that are rich in minerals and microelements that give fruits their distinctive characteristics. Major grapes grown here are Pinot Bianco, Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon as well as some equally exceptional reds including Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir. Humar Vini specializes in viticulture growing local varieties common to Collio appellation. The winery has a philosophy to produce wines from local grape varieties working towards innovation with the utmost respect for tradition.
