A Winery with 50 Years of Tradition in Paestum

I Vini del Cavaliere is nestled in the picturesque Capaccio area of Paestum, specifically on Via Feudo La Pila. This winery has a rich history rooted in craftsmanship and a deep love for the land. For three generations, the Cuomo family has nurtured their 5,000 square meters of vineyard, maintaining an unwavering passion for winemaking. What began with Cavaliere Francesco five decades ago has been passed down to his son Domenico and now to his nephew Giovanni, who manages the winery with dedication and expertise. The winery harmoniously blends traditional winemaking techniques with modern technology to produce exceptional wines.

The I Vini del Cavaliere cellar spans 300 square meters and is set against the stunning backdrop of Paestum. This vital space is where grapes undergo transformation, fermentation, maturation, and bottling. The winery produces seven distinct types of wine, including a sparkling wine, a liqueur, and a distillate. Giovanni Cuomo oversees production alongside agronomist Dr. Sergio Romano, ensuring that each bottle reflects their commitment to quality.

Ideal Terroirs for Exceptional Wines

The vineyards are situated in two prime locations: the Moio area and Via Feudo La Pila. The unique combination of soil, climate, and altitude creates perfect conditions for cultivating a variety of grapes, including Aglianico, Fiano, Primitivo, and Falanghina. The excellence of their wines stems from meticulous vineyard care, focusing on low yields and minimal chemical use, favoring organic compost instead.
