Lethbridge Wines- Story about the birth of the Winery
Lethbridge Wines started because of the friendship between Adrian Thomas, Maree Collis, and Ray Nadeson. They were making their careers in medical science and shared a common love for wines. Soon, they were in search of the perfect vineyard and ready to plant vines. Ray and Marie, after 7 years of balancing winemaking and medical career, decided to follow their dreams and set up Lethbridge Wines. The winery is focused on producing savory wines that speak of place, they produce single vineyard or single varietal wines.
The Grape Varieties
Located in Geelong wine region’s Moorabool Valley, the soil types, microclimate, and other factors are suitable for vine cultivation. They use grapes from their vineyards and also from the best growers in nearby regions of Heathcote, Pyrenees, and Henty. The grapes that grow here include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Gamay. The best grapes are handpicked and processed to make their red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines.
Different Wines
Under their Between Five Bells label, they are able to express themselves more freely making wines whose ultimate goal is to be delicious, regardless of variety or region, meanwhile, the winery’s new Il Modo range, made from sustainable Italian varietals in 800lt Tuscan made amphora are all about modern wines with a historical twist. Ray and Maree, the owners, supervise the highly-talented team and make sure everything takes place according to their high standards.
All wines in the winery are made with minimal intervention and have a rich, fruity taste and the desired structure and aroma.
