A History to Compliment the Beverage

The winery is located in one of the oldest documented buildings of the town Begues. With the death proof dating back to the 1530, the family’s roots are deep into the soil of this small town. This is reflected in the magnificent tree of the family but could still go back to the Neolithic Age according to archaeological excavations conducted there since the 80s, in the Cova de Can Sadurni located on a hill of Montau behind the house. The climate of the area and the distinct location of the fields, allows the cultivation of the vines in optimal conditions. The grapes are ripe and juicy every time. The fusion between tradition and dedication comes to a product:Montau of Sadurni. The family owned estate continues to combine tradition with innovation, trying to make the best out of thier premium grapes.

Wine with a Side of Food

In the same building as the vineyards are the El Celler d’en Sadurní. A restaurant whose menu is articulately curated to serve the traditionalist to the most modern dishes present.

The grilled meats and saddle of lamb are made in the oven, as well as an assortment of salads, and some cod recipes plus always fresh seasonal products. To accompany these dishes you can have an assortment of wines. And people are always ready to help you make the perfect pairing. The restaurant is also suited for larger gatherings, accommodating up to 80 people at a time.
