Revitalizing Georgian Winemaking Heritage in Kartli
A Family Winery
Napheri Winery is nestled in the lush northern part of Georgia's Kartli region. Surrounded by natural beauty and fresh air, this winery offers a unique experience for wine enthusiasts, steeped in the rich history of Georgian winemaking.
The Winemaker
Levan Kbitlsetsklashvili is a passionate winemaker dedicated to reviving traditional Georgian winemaking practices. Inspired by a centuries-old cellar in the village of Nazavi, which fell into disuse during the Communist era, Levan has long aspired to restore this cherished craft. His family has a legacy of winemaking that spans decades, fueling his desire to bring back the authentic flavors of the region.
In 2018, Levan constructed his own qvevri cellar, marking a significant step in the revival of traditional winemaking in Nazavi. His cellar stands as a testament to the region's heritage, where wines are handcrafted using age-old techniques that have been passed down through generations. Visitors to Napheri Winery can appreciate the dedication to quality and tradition that defines each bottle produced here.
