Franz-Josef Eifel Winery combines both conventional and innovative grape cultivation and wine production methods.
With immense respect for family traditions of winemaking, Franz-Josef Eifel has combined both conventional and innovative methods of grape cultivation and wine production in the cellar. He has brought wooden oak barrels for perfect aging and refining of his wines.
Vineyard Cultivation on the Steep Slopes of Trittenheim
The majority of the vineyards are cultivated on the inclining slopes of Trittenheim, home to the winery’s 80-year-old grapevines. Riesling is the main variety cultivated for the production of their exquisite Mosel Wines. Their micro-terraces of family-owned slopes consist of approximately 50 to 100 plants. Franz-Josef Eifel Winery handpicks their vineyards, and only the best bunches go for fermentation in the wine cellar in large stainless tanks. Using these berries, the company produces luscious white and sparkling wines. With little intervention in the modern cellar, the wines are matured with controlled idleness.
