Where tradition and experience go hand in hand
Haksberg Winery
Haksberg is a Belgian winery located in the Hageland in Flemish Brabant, a region eminently suitable to viticulture because of the ironstone in the soil. Ironstone absorbs and traps the heat of the day allowing the grapes to continue to enjoy it at night.
At Haksberg the vines are tended and harvested by hand to guarantee the best quality of the grapes. The wine is fermented at low temperature to prolong the process and allow more aromas to develop.
White, rosé, red and sparkling wines are made on the estate by winemaker Hilde Rutten from traditional grape varieties that are best suited to the soil and climate: Dornfelder, Auxerrois and Pinot Noir, as well as the mildew-resistant Souvignier Gris and Muscaris.
Sustainability is a priority at Haksberg. We do not use herbicides in the vineyard and remove weeds between the plants mechanically with a hoeing machine. Wherever possible we use crop protection products that are approved for organic farming.
Visit our vineyard, learn more about viticulture and winemaking, and taste our wines. Guided group tours with tasting, or wine workshops with regional snacks can be arranged.
