Highest Sparkling winery in Europe
The owner of Arunda became famous in Italy as a representative and consultant at Seitz, a well-known company making enotechnological products. It is the highest sparkling winery in Europe, situated at 1200 meters. They select the best grape varieties and wines from the region and have a great collaboration. They have partners and farmers that control with confidence, everything from the grapes to the basic wines. At 1200 meters, they make all steps from the fermenting to the wines to disgorgement. Long aging times on the yeast from a long time are very great for the high-quality and fine sparkling wines with tiny fine bubbles.
Ideal climatic conditions at Arunda
The winery at a high altitude in Alto Adige’s Meltina is ideal for making refined sparkling wines. The soil and microclimate are perfect for viticulture. Moreover, the natural temperature variations here allow for the good and peaceful ageing of their wines at a higher altitude. The grapes grown at their estate include Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. The best grapes are handpicked by their workers and taken to the cellar for vinification using the best methods and techniques.
Traditional Metodo Classico sparkling wine
All their wines are produced using the Metodo Classico process. It involves the refermentation of wines in the bottle with the introduction of yeasts and selected sugars. The sparkling wines take around 24 months to attain the required elegance, complexity, and richness. Some of their cuvees rest for more than 60 months before being ready for sale and import.
