Azienda Agricola Casale Winery, Nestled in a Beautiful Environment
Azienda Agricola Casale is situated on a hill in the northern part of the Elsa Valley in the historical town of San Gimignano. This area is located centrally among the major sites in the region of the Chianti region, Sienna and Volterra. The area surrounding the winery is mentioned in the writings of palaeontology and within this landscape, it is possible to see clay erosion.
The Origin of the Farm Dates Back to 1770
A ledger has been recovered as the proof of the crop production up until 1915 in the farm. The property also boasts a lookout tower dating back to the year 1000, and today visible signs of the ancient walls can be seen in the cellars.
Biodynamic Winemaking for 40 Years
The winery has adopted the method of organic farming and the philosophy of biodynamics since 1980 and have been certified by Demeter since 1995. Some of the grape varieties grown in their vineyard are Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Trebbiano. They use their grapes to produce quality wines. Their production consists of red, white, rose, sweet and sparkling wines along with other products like vinegar, balsamic vinegar, brandy, aged grappa, brandy, olive oil, extra virgin olive oil and spelt.
