A Beautiful Blend of Tradition & Innovation
Encircled by the beautiful landscapes of Vallagarina, de Tarczal is a family-owned winery located in Trentino, the birthplace of Prince Bishop of Trento. On the right side of River Adige, estate-owned vineyards are nestled, surrounded by the Baldo and Bondone chains, midway up the hills. The company also owns an old stable converted into a welcoming space, La Stube, for winetasting.
The Winery Established During the Rule of the Austro-Hungarian Empire
De Tarczal Winery, initially the property of an ancient Trentino family, has been operating gracefully for around 100 years. The tale began when Countess Alberti married to Gèza Dell’Adami de Tarczal and brought the estate as a dowry. Gèza was an admiral of the Imperial Royal Austro-Hungarian Fleet and a forefather of the current owner, Ruggero Dell’Adami de Tarczal. The estate’s first production line included high-quality Marzemino, which was a must on the court tables. Following the same passion and love for family traditions, Ruggero has made Marzemino one of the essential grapes of de Tarczal. Some other varieties include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, Merlot, Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, and Moscato Giallo.
Underground Cellar and Restaurant of de Tarczal
Over the years, many modern and innovative changes have been made in the underground aging cellar. The estate uses temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for fermentation and maturation of white wines, along with 50-hectolitre oak barrels that provide subtle wooden essence to the wines. Besides, a restaurant with a beautiful entrance is located within the estate, having 30 seats inside and a terrace overlooking the picturesque landscapes. It is the place where Ruggero organizes his special dinners and lunches with guests.
