Bodega Valdehermoso: in the heart of Nava del Rey
Located in the beautiful Nava del Rey of the historic province of Valladolid in northwest Spain, the winery Bodega Valdehermoso is situated in the same places where there were vineyards that supplied the markets of northern Spain centuries ago. Phylloxera has been battled against and now, merging the cutting-edge new technology with traditional wisdom of winemaking,
The winery produces youthful and elegant wines
After spending several years in the gestation period, the plans to recover the winery were finally formalized in 2004. Then in 2005, the first bottle of the project is launched. Between then and now, the dream has gone through many expansions and innovations, and it continues to. And for David Aguado, it is more than just a continuation of family history at Bodega Valdehermoso. Born in Nava del Rey, he truly believes in the pioneering work that is possible in winemaking, building on the foundations of the past and adding on the innovations of modern techniques, which has led to the production of more personal, youthful and elegant wines.
Farming with an ecological balance
Taking care of family traditions and ecological balance across the vast 60 hectares of vineyards, grape varieties of Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc and Viura are cultivated, producing a range of red and white wines. The vineyards are located at almost 800m above sea-level on gravelly soil on both clay and sandy substrates. This balanced with the continental climate are instrumental to the fruity touches, excellent acidity, and that original spark of a mouthful of wine.
