Cantina del Guisto started in 1930
The Cantina del Giusto is a small-production wine estate in the Acquaviva area near Montepulciano’s foot. The del Giusto family has been making wines and olive oil in Montepulciano for four generations and look after the entire production and marketing of the estate. The story began in 1930, and by 1950, Giulio del Giusto was making wines on his own farm. His son Piero and his wife, Luisa, restored and expanded the farm to showcase their love and passion for winemaking. The ageing cellar was established in 1997 and the new winemaking cellar in 2005.
Beautiful surroundings and vineyards
The Cantina del Giusto is surrounded by some of the most beautiful locations of Tuscany that show the culture and traditions of the famous region. The company’s vineyards in Fontedoccia and Fontegrande have proper orientation and north-west facing. The clayey loam soil has an optimum slope and perfect for cultivating vineyards. Near the vineyards are present historical artifacts dating to the Roman era. Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo, and Ciliegiolo grapes are grown to make their world-class red and white wines.
Modern winery in Tuscany
The winemaking cellar has stainless steel tanks that allow long fermentation at controlled temperatures along with a pneumatic press and variable pression. There is a minimal intervention that allows the wine to retain a natural fruity taste. Big and small wooden barrels are used for ageing, giving the wines nice tannins, finesse, and elegance. Only the best Italian and French oak barrels are used to maintain the high-quality of wines.
