Cantina del Giusto: A Legacy Since 1930
Located in the picturesque Acquaviva area near Montepulciano, Cantina del Giusto is a charming winery with a rich history. Established in 1930, this family-owned estate has been dedicated to producing exceptional wines and olive oil for four generations. Giulio del Giusto began crafting wines on his own farm in 1950, and his son Piero, along with his wife Luisa, expanded the estate to reflect their passion for winemaking. The winery's aging cellar was built in 1997, followed by a modern winemaking facility in 2005.
Stunning Tuscan Landscapes
Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Tuscany, Cantina del Giusto's vineyards are located in Fontedoccia and Fontegrande. The north-west facing vineyards benefit from clayey loam soil, ideal for grape cultivation. Visitors can also find historical artifacts from the Roman era nearby, adding to the region's rich cultural heritage. The estate grows Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo, and Ciliegiolo grapes, which are used to produce their renowned red and white wines.
Modern Winemaking Techniques
The winery features state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks that facilitate long fermentation at controlled temperatures, ensuring the preservation of the wine's natural fruity flavors. A pneumatic press and variable pressure techniques are employed for minimal intervention during the winemaking process. Aging takes place in both large and small wooden barrels, crafted from the finest Italian and French oak, which impart elegance and finesse to the wines.
