Carobbio- Winery Combining History and Tradition with Innovative Techniques
The Carobbio winery is situated in Panzano’s Golden Valley in Chianti, between Siena and Florence, right at the center of a natural amphitheater. The estate has olive groves, green forests, and old vineyards. Carlo Novarese started the restoration of vineyards, land, and the cellar around thirty years ago because of his love for this place. Carrobio winery combines history and tradition with innovative techniques to cultivate their vines and make wines that have great complexity, structure, and taste.Carlo purchased the estate in 1985 and was a fine farmhouse before Carlo started the remodeling.
The Noravese family continues the project and has expanded the vineyards that have allowed them to make unrivaled wines like the Chianti Classico and the Super Tuscans.
Excellent Vineyard Location
The location of the vineyards is excellent. It is surrounded by hills, and the soil here can retain the heat of the sun. Alberese and Galestro soils enable the production of aromatic and elegant wines. Each and every vine is taken care of by the staff, and the most advanced farming methods are used here. There is a low yield of grapes but of high quality. Local grape varietals like Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Blanc, Malvasia, and Trebbiano grow here.
Wines Reflecting their Famous Chianti Terroir
The harvest takes place manually, and only the best grapes are chosen to make their red, white, rose, and dessert wines. The wines take a long time of maturing in the Slavonian oak barrels and then the bottle, but the results are great. The wines reflect their hard work and the qualities of the famous Chianti terroir.
