An estate with four wine shops in Tricase, Supersano, Miggiano, and Poggiardo.

Castel di Salve is a winery situated in the Southern part of Puglia, in the charming village of Depressa near Tricase.  The winery is a industrial architecture masterpiece in Lecce stone established by Antonio Winspeare towards the end of the nineteenth century, following local building tradition. After more than a century, it has been renewed by his grand-nephew, Francesco, who continues to run it with care and passion. Castel di Salve selected old vineyards with potential and chose just the very best terrain to plant new vines. Then, the century old winery was painstakingly restored with just one goal in mind: create exceptional wines.

Top quality wine comes from top quality grapes, so you’ll find us in our vineyards every single day, personally checking on every single detail of the cultivation process. We focus on local Salento varieties like Verdeca, Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia nera di Lecce - other varieties are used, if exclusively Italian. The goal is to give the wines the stunning red color of the local soil, the wild fragrances of the Mediterranean, the heat of the Salento sun, and even a hint of the sea.
