Crivellé i Valls – Family-Owned Winery with 90 Years Old Vines

The Crivellé i Valls is a small family winery located in the municipality of Poboleda, within the Priorat Designation of Origin. The winery originated with a family of grape growers, who for more than four generations have grown vineyards on the estate of Mas d’en Gil, located in the municipality of Morera de Montsant. They still use vineyards with old vines that are more than 90 years old, along with more recently planted ones vines for their wines.

Crivellé i Valls Winery follows traditional methods that have been passed down through the centuries, with respect for the terrain and the vines they produce.

Their vineyards are diverse, with slopes close to 40% degree angles in some parts. Other plots are much flatter with muddy soils mixed with slate. The vineyards of Crivellé i Valls Winery are located in an ideal area with amazing weather for grape cultivation. This holds true with the evidence that their old vines still produce quality grapes fter nearly a century. They grow grape varieties such as Garnacha Tinta, Cariñena, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Garnacha Blanca in the vineyards. The grapes from the vineyards are harvested at maturity and sent to the facility in a house in the town of Poboleda. All the processes for winemaking are done here. Crivellé i Valls Winery has limited production capacity but is proud of the quality of wine they produce. They follow traditional methods that have been passed down through the centuries, which respects the terrain and fruit they produce.
