Château La Font Des Ormes, a Dreamy Winery

In the southern France, somewhere between Montpellier and Béziers, lies the beautiful winery Château La Font Des Ormes. The location here is truly resembling of a dreamy Mediterranean scenery from ancient times. The beautiful southern France-typical nature surrounds the estate as well as merging into it. Ancient stone buildings has been standing on the ground decorating the natural wilderness for a long time. And as matter of fact, it was primarily the ancient buildings that caught the attention of Guy Cazalis de Fondouce, the owner of Château La Font Des Ormes.

The Beginning

By falling in love with the buildings on the land and restoring them, Guy and his wife naturally discovered the assets of the land’s soil as well, and that is how Château La Font Des Ormes was born as a winery estate in the year 2000. Today the winery is being taken care of not only by Guy, but also by Mireille who runs the estate on a day-to-day basis, takes care of the vineyard management, and implements biodynamic techniques as well as winemaking and ageing methods together with Bertrand, the custodian of the unique wine styles at Château Font Des Ormes.

Restored but Preserved

With the helping hand of the architect Ariel Balmassière, the land’s medieval buildings have been restored and re-clad with lime-render. Even the timber frames and the roof have been restored and brought back to a better state. Every original ancient detail has been recreated with the most detailed care possible.
