Unique Winery from the French Pyrenees
Respect for tradition and knowledge meet a keen awareness of the importance of ecologically viable techniques at Château Montana. Against the beautiful setting of Aspres region in the French Pyrenées, a short drive from Perpignan, it’s easy to see why good things come from this enchanting spot.
The Best of Old and New
The estate dates from the 1800s. However, it was comprehensively remodeled in 1996. Therefore, it brings together the best of the old and the new. It’s a strategy that carries on into the vineyards too. Indeed, the vineyard has a mix between classic varieties such as Carignan and Grenache Noir and newer additions such as Syrah and Mourvèdre. Château Montana wines are as diverse as the region from which they originate. They range from sweet, fruity Muscat, to the powerful but contemporary red wines. Patrick Saurel’s owner knows this region like the back of his hand. Patrick Saurel shows his passion for the craft and his homeland through the expression of his wines.
