A Family Winery with Strength and Balance
Paul and Marie-Elisabeth Joyet owned the Domaine des Girasols winery since 1974. Now, their daughter Françoise and her husband Jon take over the winery after spending 10 years in California. The next generation is coming too. Indeed, their grandson and son Julien will work in the winery, the daughter Pauline is still studying. The estate boasts exceptional geographical settings. It lies at the foot of the medieval village of Rasteau. The winery faces the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux.
Domaine des Girasols and their Diverse Wine Selection
The Domaine des Girasols Estate occupies 16 hectares. The winery produces very richly and a varied selection of strong, balanced and high-quality wines. The wines of Domaine des Girasols express both power and harmony. The average age of wines from the Girasols estate is between 50 and 60 years old. The vineyard uses popular grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. The wine cellar belongs to 1978. It locates on the stunning hillside, partly buried for winemaking by gravity and sparing excessive pumping.
100 Year Old Vines from Domaine des Girasols
The vineyard based on an exceptional terroir and in addition local climate helps to produce wines with incredible taste and quality. Old vines are more than one hundred years old. The oldest vines bring a good complexity and length in the aftertaste. Grape varieties, such as Grenache, Syrah, Mouvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault inspire all wines at Domaine des Girasols.
