Domaine Des Terres De Velle was established in 2009, starting with six hectares divided into 25 small parcels in the renowned southern Côte de Beaune. This area includes Premier Crus in Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and Volnay, producing around 30,000 bottles annually. Sophie and Fabrice built their winery from scratch, a remarkable feat in a region where many estates are steeped in history and inheritance.

Biodynamic Practices at Domaine Des Terres De Velle

Sophie and Fabrice embrace organic and biodynamic farming methods. In 2011, they completed their new winery, where they ferment their wines using native yeasts and employ gravity flow to transfer the wines to the cellar for maturation. The wines rest in barrels for several months before being blended in steel tanks, allowing for natural settling. This process enables Fabrice to bottle the wines without filtration, preserving their purity.

The wines from Domaine Des Terres De Velle showcase a delightful blend of the creamy richness of Meursault and the vibrant citrus notes of Puligny. In the glass, expect a light golden straw yellow with green hues. The aromas are rich and inviting, featuring yellow apple, pear, fresh cream, white flowers, citrus, wet stones, and a hint of oak. The texture is smooth, medium-bodied, and well-balanced, with bright acidity and a fragrant, mineral finish.
