A Legacy of Winemaking in Languedoc-Roussillon
A Rich Heritage Since 1928
Domaine Girard has been crafting exceptional wines since 1928, when Jean Girard established the winery on just 7 hectares. Initially, he cultivated Carignan, Cinsault, Aramon, and Jurançon. The winery's significant growth began in the 1980s under the guidance of André Girard, a third-generation winemaker who introduced innovative techniques while honoring traditional practices. Today, the winery is in the hands of a new generation dedicated to balancing heritage with modern advancements.
Commitment to Sustainable Practices
In 2019, Domaine Girard earned a certification for its sustainable farming practices, reflecting the family's long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship. This recognition highlights their respect for biodiversity, the unique Malepère terroir, and their efforts to minimize pesticide use, ensuring a healthier ecosystem.

Key grape varieties cultivated here include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chenin, Malbec, and Syrah, alongside unique local grapes that contribute to the winery's distinctive offerings.
