Surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Hérault valley, Domaine l’Aiguelière is a family-owned winery located on the Montpeyroux terroir, producing wines for six generations. The company owns 18 hectares protected by the Larzac foothills with eight distinct geological locations. The winery follows organic practices in the vineyards, combined with traditional methods.

A Long History Since the Roman Era

The wine tradition in Montepeyroux came into being during the Roman period till the 15th-century. However, the 17th and 18th centuries were the golden times when wine culture got more recognition. Later in the 19th century, there was an immense rise in wine production. The Commeyras family owns Domaine l’Aiguelière since 1850. Today, the company is run by the sixth generation, and each generation has contributed something unique to the winery. They have incorporated various state-of-the-art technologies into the cellar and vineyards.

The Winery Grows Around 22 Vine Varietals

In 2018, the vineyard operations converted into organic viticulture. Here, the company has planted various grapes, ranging from high-quality Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre to excellent Cabernet-Sauvignon, Sauvignon, and Viognier. The wines crafted using these berries are all AOC and IGP labeled with the precise composition of each varietal.
