Glassierhof Estate

Glassierhof, a name rooted in the Latin word "Clausura," meaning closure, reflects the unique architecture of the winery, which is encircled by circular walls. The estate's yard, restored in 1663, remains in the hands of the founding family, who have nurtured the vines for nine generations. Since 2005, Glassierhof has proudly operated as a 100% organic winery. The family believes that quality must be a continuous commitment, from the cultivation of the grapes to the final bottling process. Their goal is to uphold and expand this rich tradition with personal dedication.

The Vineyard Plots

Glassierhof currently manages three distinct vineyard plots. The first, Cabernet Merlot Riserva, is cultivated by hand on a steep moraine hill facing south. This area benefits from a unique soil composition of mineral-rich Tyrolean rocks, renowned for its excellent structure. Traditional terracing techniques allow the vines to absorb daytime heat, which is gradually released at night. The second plot, Geboch, features Porphyry, an igneous rock that lowers soil acidity, creating an ideal environment for grape growth. The largest plot, named Glassier, consists of lime marl, sandstone, and porphyry, providing essential minerals that support the vines' health and vitality.
