A Winery That Cares About Wines and Nature

Come and discover 20 hectares of vines under the controlled appellation Vouvray in the heart of Indre et Loire, France. This domain is unique, only one grape variety is cultivated, the Chenin. What is so special about it that it is content to stand on its own? This grape variety, which is over 1300 years old, is historically a French variety from the Loire region. It produces many wines, for all tastes, from sweet dessert wines to light sparkling wines to full-bodied white wines. It blends with many other grape varieties and one thing is certain, it will not leave you indifferent. To go back to the main subject, the winery, Luc Dumange is an independent winegrower in Vouvray, who run the Domaine du Clos de l’Epinay with his family. He starts to work with his wife Marie-Claire in 1985 in the Domaine and his daughter Pauline came to works with them in 2015. Their vineyard is in sustainable farming with different certifications: Terra Vitis since 2013, HVE since 2018 and they started their conversion in biological wine in 2020. The range of still wines is vast (dry, medium dry, medium sweet and sweet wines in some years such as 2009). This family Domaine respect the french wine tradition, they use the champenoise method for their sparkling wines, keep their wines more than 24 months in tank to respect the bubbles of their wines and keep all the flavours.
