Lugana – A Home for Malasvi Estate and its Luscious Wines
The Malasvi Winery is a family heirloom, located between the municipalities of Pozzolengo and Desenzano del Garda, beautified by the rolling morainic hills. The company owns magnificent terroirs of ten hectares when the cultivation of vines and olive groves dominant the region. Enjoying the fertile land and proximity of Lake Garda, the estate delivers top-class white wines made from its flagship Turbiana grape.
A Winery Serving the Family For Four Generation
Started by great-grandfather Tita, the wines produced within the estate were used as payment to the 50 families that worked in Tita’s company. With years passing by, wine production became the primary activity of the Malasvi family. Later acquired by Callisto, the grandfather, the company underwent various transformations from the vineyards to the cellar. Today, Daniele owns the winery and handles all its operations. Along with the modern cellar, constructed in the late 2000s, there also exists a warehouse where bottled wines are kept under controlled temperature.
Replanting the Historic Vineyards
The vineyards, where Daniele grows a wide range of grapes, are located across the Lugana territory. He cultivates Turbiana, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon, and Lambrusco. Each grape variety expresses the essence of the terroirs in which they are grown. Preserving the natural balance, Daniele keeps the usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides to zero. The staff practices manual harvesting and pressing to maintain the organoleptic characteristics intact. Using these berries, the estate produces eight labels of red, white, rose, and sparkling wines.
