Biodynamic Wine Growing Not Far from Pisa
Podere Anima Mundi is located in Usigliano, in the heart of the hills of Lari just a few kilometres from Pisa. The estate is a small biodynamic winery that focuses on wine production using only rare local grape varieties like Foglia Tonda, Pugnitello or Ciliegiolo.
Podere Anima Mundi, Winery with a Natural Setting
The winery covers a total area of 17 hectares of land, and their vineyards extend up to six hectares. The production process takes place under the rhythms of nature – the climate, the seasons, and a perfect balance between the soil and the plants.
Big Vision at Podere Anima Mundi
Marta Sierota is the owner of the estate and grew up in Poland and France. Later, in 2008, she moved to Tuscany with her family. Since the beginning, Marta believed that wine is a product of nature and of humanity. In 2012, the foundation of Podere Anima Mundi took place with the purchase of the farm. The family at Podere Anima Mundi decided to make wines following biodynamic winemaking practies through all steps. Currently, in the winery varietal wines are produced without the addition of additives to express the unique terroir as best as possible. On the oldest vineyards, namely Foglia Tonda and Due Venti two Tuscan grapes are cultivated: Pugnitello and Colorino del Valdarno. The vineyards grow the vines to manufacture the two most important wines of the estate – Mor di Roccia and Due Venti. But the estate also cultivates other grape varieties such as Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Sauvignon Blanc. If you want to discover natural wines made in Tuscany, then Podere Anima Mundi is an excellent place to visit and explore the natural beauty.
