Experience Different Autochthonous Varieties at Podere Volpaio
Podere Volpaio vineyards are located in the hills at the heights of about 250 meters above the sea level. They grow grapes following guidelines for organic farming and using traditional methods. This ensures the selection of best grapes for producing high quality wines. Podere Volpaio produces native grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Malvasia, Canaiolo, Colorino, and Ciliegiolo grapes for red wines and Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia of Chianti for white wines.
The Winery is a Member in the Growing Organic Project
In 2000, Podere Volpaio became a part of Growing Organic Project, according to which, the use of synthetic chemical substances for pest control and fertilization are totally excluded. From these organic grapes, the produce a number of red, white and rose DOCG, DOC and IGT wines, the most famous being Chianti DOCG and Chianti Reserva DOCG wines. The wines they sell are certified organic and vegan. At Podere Volpaio Winery, they believe that wine is the mirror of the territory, and of the people who take care of the plants from which it is produced year after year. Podere Volpaio has tried their best to follow their “bio” philosophy in the winemaking process, which is a good mix between tradition and innovation. This ensures the protection of the environment and the respect for the nature.
