Located just 30 kilometers from Florence in the charming municipality of Vinci, Podere Volpaio is a renowned organic winery with a rich history dating back to 1890. For generations, the family has dedicated itself to crafting exceptional wines while honoring the land and the vines that produce them.

Unique Autochthonous Varieties at Podere Volpaio

The vineyards of Podere Volpaio are nestled in the picturesque hills at an elevation of approximately 250 meters above sea level. Here, the winery cultivates grapes using organic farming practices and traditional methods, ensuring the selection of the finest grapes for their high-quality wines. The winery specializes in native grape varieties, including Sangiovese, Malvasia, Canaiolo, Colorino, and Ciliegiolo for red wines, as well as Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia of Chianti for white wines.

Commitment to Organic Practices

Since joining the Growing Organic Project in 2000, Podere Volpaio has eliminated synthetic chemicals in pest control and fertilization. This commitment allows them to produce a diverse range of red, white, and rosé wines, including the celebrated Chianti DOCG and Chianti Reserva DOCG. All wines are certified organic and vegan, reflecting the winery's belief that wine embodies the essence of the land and the people who nurture it.
