More Than 170 Ha In Over 350 m Altitude
Great wines are in need of great grapes, and great grapes are in need of even greater conditions. Luckilly, this is something that the Sovibor vineyards are blessed with, since they cover a immense land full of assets for their DOC Barboa. Some of the vines belongs to the Old World Vineyards, but the grapes all thrive, not only thanks to the very generous climate, but also because of the high altitude of more than 350 m, and also because the poor dryland soil, dominated by shale, results in some of the highest quality grapes around. To cherish the essence of Alentejo, Sovibor mainly cultivates the cherished traditional local grapes such as Arinto, Antão Vaz, Roupeiro, and more.
