Biodynamic Winemaking in Tuscany

Stefano Amerighi is a biodynamic winery nestled in the picturesque region of Tuscany. Founded with a passion for producing exceptional Syrah wine, the winery honors traditional family values and methods. Located in Poggiobello di Farneta, the estate benefits from two well-exposed hills, ideal for cultivating Syrah grapes sourced from the renowned Valle del Rodano. The winery is committed to organic and biodynamic practices, ensuring a sustainable approach to viticulture.

Pruning in Harmony with Nature

At Stefano Amerighi, agricultural practices, including pruning, align with lunar phases to promote healthy growth. The use of copper and sulfur is minimal, allowing the soil to thrive even in colder months. Collaborating with skilled partners, the winery produces Cortona DOC red wines on a larger scale while maintaining its commitment to biodynamic principles. In addition to winemaking, the owner oversees the cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and the breeding of animals, creating a holistic farming environment.

Aging for Quality Wines

The winery's biodynamic approach results in healthy grapes, and the winemaking process is free from chemicals and additives. After destemming, grapes are gently pressed by foot, following traditional methods. They are then placed manually into small concrete tanks for fermentation, which occurs without sulfur and with selected yeasts. The wines mature for 44 months in cement and wood, allowing for a refined character that reflects the terroir of the region. Stefano Amerighi is dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture, resulting in natural wines that showcase the unique flavors of Tuscany.

Congratulations to Stefano, we drank a Syrah 2018 (with Vladimiro)... very good! Warning: Unfortunately we were not "welcome" in the cellar (March 24th, 4:25 p.m.), although according to Google Maps the cellar was still open. Even the greeting from Vladimiro Pelliciardi didn't help. Maybe another time.

24.05. Visit to the winery by reservation with a small group. The dedicated owner showed us around with his attentive assistant, who explained the process and the history of this young winery, which has nevertheless carried out many experiments in a short time, some of which have achieved excellent results. Niche wines, you have to like them, but as always in these cases, there is a lot of work and dedication behind them.

A serious company that has been present in the region for many years and produces wines of different types, all of high quality.

This wine, with its beautiful bright pink color, is a great discovery. A sample of freshness and flavor... not pretentious, but not at all obvious or cheap. The producer is a guarantee of seriousness, professionalism, and precision. The grapes were harvested slightly early to preserve the right freshness and the typical zest of the vine, making this bottle "delicious" and inviting, like a deserted beach at dusk... with a wine like this... recommended!
